Hello, my name is Carolyn McLean. I am currently in Year 2 of the East Kootenay Teacher Education Program. I have lived in Cranbrook since I was 8 years old but left for 2 years to Kamloops in my 20s. I have 2 teenager daughters, and 2 dogs named Kody and Princess. I am a lifelong learner.

I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was little. I used to line up my dolls and stuffed animals and teach. I love working with children and experiencing ‘light bulb’ moments. Seeing the world through their view has always been a joy for me. I taught violin privately in my own studio for 20 years until I graduated from the College of the Rockies as an Education Assistant. Working with students with diverse needs has challenging moments but very rewarding.

In my free time, I enjoy camping with my family, visiting theme parks, playing the violin, reading, learning new board games, and volunteering with Special Olympics. Also, anything that involves Disney!

I can not wait to have a classroom of my own in the future!
